It is now easier for New Brunswickers to test their homes for radon gas.

Starting today, you can visit your local library to get a free kit that includes a 90-day test and other important information about radon gas.

Where do we go for acute issues that are caused by our chronic illnesses? The ER doesn’t manage our issues. Well neither do our doctors. So where do we go. What do we do? We sit at home and hope it’s not fatal.

I would love @susanholtnb.bsky.social and the minister of health to weigh in on this.

The Canadian Covid Society @cancovsoc.bsky.social is entirely volunteer run, and is a non-profit, so it can't give out tax receipts. We're reliant on people who care about helping those with long COVID, masks in health care, and clean air to help push for change.

people really do need to just get over it. everyone has their own reasons for masking. You are role models for your kid. If you treat maskers as if they are abnormal - what kind of example are you setting for how your kids treat people who ARE different.

The cruelty of saying “hospitals are ready” by increasing ICU beds and body bags… instead of fixing the ventilation.

Just mull over that for a bit #MedSky.

50% of Canadians don’t know this:

“The Canadian Cancer Society says drinking about three drinks a day could double the risk of developing cancer of the mouth, pharynx, larynx and esophagus, and increase the risk of colorectal and breast cancer by one-and-a-half times.”

#NBPoli memory; it was only 4 years ago that Higgs cancelled Thanksgiving but they told everyone you could go to a restaurant to eat with people but you couldn’t have them at your house. Absolutely infuriating. NB could have cleaned the air; instead launched snitch line.

And in NB it’s divided by language lines. Patients and workers involved in the francophone system have never had required masks brought back after @vitalitenb.bsky.social dropped them. How is this right? I know of people who caught covid in the French hospitals and died due to HAI covid. 💔

Clinics are the one place patients should be SAFE

Colds, flus & coughs are the #1 reason why Canadians see a doctor

…so where did masking in healthcare go?

It’s political.

Maybe explains why in NB we have masking only in @horizonhealthnb.bsky.social facilities but NOT in @vitalitenb.bsky.social .
dalpe.bsky.social
This is not quite accurate.
In NB, only facilities under the anglophone regional health authority, @horizonhealthnb.bsky.social reinstated masking.
The francophone regional health authority, @vitalitenb.bsky.social has not reinstated masking, had not done so last year either...

"Masks prevent the transmission of respiratory viruses. The science is clear," writes Iris Gorfinkel. "The standards are in place. dalpe.bsky.social
NB has not reinstated masking in healthcare, only @horizonhealthnb.bsky.social has in its facilities. But the other regional health authority, the francophone one, Vitalité has not, which is very unfortunate for francophones.
