I was the problematic one. I steamrolled over innocent people. I spoke for others who did not ask me to speak for them. I ran my mouth about stuff I didn't understand. Thank you to the brave people who have been speaking out about this all along. I'm sorry it took me so long to internalize it.

I just wanted to try to make this confusing messy world a little clearer and simpler, but that was a mistake because I paved over the very sorts of nuance that leftists like me are supposed to engage with and understand. I just wanted to make art less "problematic" and more accessible. I failed.

Today I deleted that essay. I know doing that doesn't erase the damage I've caused. I thought I was doing good, but I didn't do anything except dehumanize people who had done absolutely no real-world harm. I feel awful. I've alienated people and spoke recklessly. I was wrong, and I am sorry.

Seven years ago, I wrote an essay about this called "Keep Kids Out of Vore" in which I denounced adult content with age-play that I personally deemed "problematic."
