I don't know that I'm even interested in it purely as allegory, i think it's more like. if irl sex and gender still exists in addition to alpha/beta/omega sex and gender then like. transgender people will still exist in omegaverse, and i want to explore what that looks like +

i don't go too hard with it really but i think about like. what does it mean to be a woman in omegaverse. what does it mean to be a woman and an alpha. what does it mean to be transgender, or to have a scent that passes for an alpha's when you're an omega, or vice versa. all interesting questions!

this is my eternal mood about omegaverse tbh. also i just get far more interested in it from a sociological viewpoint and that might be less common which maybe made it easy to decide "ok this one's not for me except in my own dollhouse"

one thing about present tense third person is that you can do free indirect speech *real* freely. the line between the narrator's remarks and the characters' indirect speech melts fully and permanently because now even the tense doesn't have to change
