As far as grid management is concerned, I believe smart grid operation has been a thing for some time. Government and ESB are too focused on building more data centres, when they should be developing resilience and smart grid technology

I've been saying for a while now. Rural areas have group water schemes that provide the administrative infrastructure to roll out community micro-generation. In many places it may need State support to get the funding, but GWSs demonstrate how utilities can be run by community co-ops

'The other option is for the state to build these projects itself, which is what China has done. These projects might not be profitable, but this doesn’t matter so much when you’re developing a long-term plan for an entire economy that needs energy to function.

Maybe the problem is that Luddite has, wrongly, become a pejorative term? It was perfectly rational to be a Luddite back in the day. They were campaigning against losing their livelihood to mechanised production after all.

This is the same mentality that allowed Labour to become complicit in the genocide to begin with. These MPs simply don't grasp the enormity of what their government has done, or the horror and revulsion felt by a significant chunk of their voter base.
