Spent a lot of yesterday agonizing about if I wanted to tie an immortal character to a real life historical figure or not, decided to do it, and now this morning I’m thinking of tossing everything and fictionalizing my whole setting anyway.
I’m about 70,000 words into this.

The version of marriage that the manosphere is pushing as ideal is probably a big part of this disconnect. Just a hunch.
The sharp decline in US teenagers’ aspiration to get married and have kids…
…is happening almost entirely among girls, not boys.
At some point maybe men will start trying harder to understand that.

I had to say no to an interview for a job I’m exceptionally well qualified for and very interested in because it would have involved coming up with enough money to move to the other side of the country into an impossibly expensive housing market.

I need every politician in this country to have worked in retail and been a client of the services they control.
