True Democrats are with you Senator Sanders. They capitulated, gave away our health care and gave permanent tax cuts to their billionaire donors. This had nothing to do with what was best for their constituents.

On Tuesday, Americans sent Democrats a resounding message.

“Fight for us”

“Fight for working class Americans”

“Fight against Trump’s corruption, criminality and cruelty”

5 days later, Democrat Senators sent Americans a resounding message.

“Nah”

Other than they are greedier than Republicans. This vote was for their donors. They care nothing for every day Americans.
It’s striking and inexplicable that Senate Dems crumbled following decisive signals from the American electorate that Trump’s policies are deeply unpopular and Americans expect the Democrats to fight Trump and Republicans over healthcare, affordability, & be a check on his chaos.

We are you Bernie. Heartbroken.
Tonight was a very bad night.

Yes. I believed the same thing too. I knew Senate Democrats would capitulate, they always do. Their donors are more important than their constituents.
Remember when some of us said the Democratic leadership would take all the wrong lessons from the blue tsunami and squander all the goodwill?

Here you go.

They forgot the part about their donors needing their tax breaks. Billionaire tax breaks, solid. Affordable health insurance for everyone else, gone.
Sen. Angus King on why Democrats caved: "It wasn't working."

Nice try Chuckie. You're done.
So @schumer.senate.gov really thinks we don’t understand that he orchestrated this by getting senators not up for re-election to vote yes?

Please don’t think this beltway game of having retiring Dem senators vote yes while everyone else votes no is going to shield leadership from the end result. We see what is happening and can’t be fooled by those games.

Dems held out for 40 days for nothing?

This is exactly what their billionaire donors want. Permanent tax cuts.
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you Senator Van Hollen. Thank goodness you have a spine and are standing up for your constituents not your donors.
I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.

I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

They're going to be. We must find younger Progressive candidates that will do the job for us, not for their own pocket books.

I called them all anyway and left multiple messages, for nothing. They're going to vote for their donors, not their constituents.
My Senators are Cancun Cruz and Disgusting Brisket Cornyn, otherwise I would.

Their mailboxes are always conveniently full, btw.

I called for over an hour, left multiple messages....for nothing. They are going to vote to take away our subsidies and make billionaire tax cuts permanent. I'll always vote but these Democrats will never get another dollar from me or any campaigning assistance.

These Democratic Senators didn't vote for the people, they voted to fill their pocketbooks. Their constituents didn't want this, their donors did.
Democrats can't defeat Trump-MAGA authoritarianism without an agenda that stands squarely on the side of working people.

We need a pro-worker, pro-democracy, anti-establishment movement that will take on oligarchy like never before.

It starts with the party rejecting Big Money.

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.
