Actress is Nigerian-British, but character’s from Louisiana & from what I can make out it sounds like she’s sayin “kor pa jamé bliyé” - good to see a darkskin Louisiana Creole character represented in media for once, esp positive representation!

Shoulda said Chacheré, which matches "sa-chur-eè" better than Chachéré & how we actually say it

If you’re white and know Spanish, speak it in public even when random.
If you’re a business owner and not an immigrant, normalize playing music in Spanish.
Use you’re privilege to #resist
In French/Creole, it’d be Chachéré

German was regularly spoken, written, and read widely in Louisiana along the Côte des Allemands (German Coast) from the 1720s to the early 20th century (outlawed in 1918). Louisiana German borrowed from Louisiana French, Kouri Vini, and indigenous languages still spoken in the region.
10. I like to do a lot of reading and watching documentaries. I love to keep my IQ level extremely high as I always tell people I am student of life.

Tell me something fascinating you recently learned.

Some do; some don’t. When I first moved abroad I was tryna learn the country’s worldview to assimilate & didn’t realize I was takin on some of their prejudice toward diff ethnic groups in the process
