Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

I love the idea that this is gonna be White Lotus for dudes.

Tropical location, new cast, big chaos.
As was accidentally released by Ubisoft itself back in August, there's a Far Cry series coming to FX from Rob McElhenney and Noah Hawley.

It's be an anthology series like Hawley's Fargo, which... is smart to be honest. Each season, new person gotta FAR CRY.

EXCLUSIVE: So far it's been unclear what proof Rockstar Games has to justify its firing of 34 union members, who it claims were leaking "confidential information in a public forum".

PMG has now seen some of the messages which contributed to this decision being made.

Experimenting with some other units (and regiments) for my Imperial Militia, so finally getting to build a model I've had my eye on for years in the Tauros Venator.

It makes a great little scout car for Heresy with some changes to the crew, stowage and weapons.

What's interesting is that this mostly sounds like Ubisoft combining EndWar's 2008 voice control schemes with some of the pre-ChatGPT era research on large language models in games.
Self-contained models with no exterior input, designed to allow for individual characters crafted by humans.

This is the post that finally made it click for me that people are genuinely treating Polymarket like the Phillips Hydraulic Computer, especially people with actual power.
There's a lot to say about the Roblox CEO interview, and the right place to start is definitely his answers on children's safety, because that's kind of the fire that is hottest and closest.

However, I have to also say, the polymarket stuff is real 'summation of our neoliberal dumpster fire' shit.

If Half-Life 3 does indeed get announced, what then?

If we do indeed find ourselves face to face with this white whale of video games, will we truly have succeeded? Or will it only pull us into the abyss?

Herein only madness reigns.

My gut says a delay this late in the day is more about the ability to have the call than the contents. At this point I feel like Ubisoft are used to being battered by analysts.
Ubisoft not just delaying games anymore. Now delaying earnings results 15 minutes before they are scheduled to have their quarterly call with investors.

And then there were four! Full detachment of Horus Heresy Militia Leman Russ now ready and finalised with transfers.
Had a lot of fun here working on unit markings, building a pseudo-command tank and generally adding texture to some very old, flat, models.

Apparently a lot of people online think games aren't as fun anymore, but that could not be farther from the truth. There's more great games than ever now, so where is this coming from? As always, the culprit is capitalism.

I had been purposefully trying not to learn about Pluribus before watching, but I'm thrilled to see it's from *this* Vince Gilligan.

Deeply unsettling sci-fi and a perfect lead performance, with some great cinematography.

It's not convenient at all! This is bad press on top of bad press, not good PR.
If you wanted to bury the news, you'd be releasing new images or a trailer.
Instead it was announced on the day of the financial report so it was prepared ahead of time at the Take Two level, tanking the stock price.
The timing is suspiciously convenient:

Massive backlash about firing 40 employees

Accusations of union-busting circulating

Press starting to dig into what “confidential info” actually means

Public perception turning against Rockstar

Solution?
delay GTA VI again

The word monopoly is gonna come in for critique (Especially while the Wolfire case details on Steam staff demanding price parity off-platform aren't widely known), but having talked to folks last week, many think any game *store* needs the same features as Steam's *platform*. That's the difficulty.
More than half of developers feel they rely too heavily on Steam to distribute their games, with 72% believing the platform has a monopoly on the PC games market

Very interesting that this happens immediately after the IWGB helped Za/um unionise and BARB get legal support.

Rockstar immediately scouring their employee base to kill union activities when they see the UK industry start making moves
BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct.

Since I can see this going viral, this linkedin post from an old exec doesn't note that Reflexive was purchased in 2008 and Twitch was 2014.

Amazon haven't really tried to build a store since 2020 (when this exec left) Luna literally just relaunched and afaik isn't part of these layoffs that way.
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.

What's especially odd about this one is that these models are being released as part of a book that is *explicitly* about the actions of the new Chaos character for TOW.

Her name is Frydaal the Chainmaker.

So it's not even like there's a faction-wide mandate not to have options.

Managed to find a treat for my last Leman Russ of my Imperial Militia detachment. One of the original Sprue layouts with all the free space and even more fiddly track designs.

The difference between this and the ones just released for Heresy is staggering.

What's really fun is if you alter the time frames here to being paused every month, and the debate started from the moment the solicits went up, you'd have regular print comics fandom too.
i love webcomic comments. it's like if thousands of people watching a soap opera paused it every twenty seconds to debate for a full day who's being immoral and what might happen in the next twenty seconds
