Wildly disappointing considering Temwa Chawinga has also received racial and transphobic abuse. It would be nice for all teams to be proactive about backing and protecting all players instead of waiting for something else to happen.

Even if she wasn't a top player, she deserves respect and dignity.

Please note, there are no trans women in the league. They won't stop at Black players. They want to see women's sports destroyed.

So speak up. Put a policy in place that protects women (including trans women).

The NWSL will be in a much stronger position if it reminds people that transphobic attacks on some players are bad for all players.

If you care about women’s sports, you’ll keep the creepy genital testing obsessives and the racists out.

Giving them any space makes everyone less safe.

1. This is a fake problem. There aren't any trans women in NWSL. There aren't any trans women in the immediate pipeline that I'm aware of.
