Plenty to criticize Graham Platner over and not hard to grasp why any number of folks might prefer Mills but this seems like a bad faith smear. E.g as far as we can tell Platner never worked for Blackwater.

Couldn't read it all not a subscriber but this is a very accurate premise and one that needs to be reckoned with. The cult like behavior of Platner supporters to double down at every instance that should contradict their support is Trump like and a massive negative for politics in general and Maine.

At this point, our intro comp/first-year English course has been so heavily revised, it no longer includes a novel, or "extended reading" of any kind, no "specialized" or "historical" reading, mostly in-class assignments, no research essay...and we are still seeing a 40-50% rate of AI misconduct.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
