With our new demo running during Steam Next Fest, I'm seeing more players discover Ambrosia Sky's immersive sim sensibilities.

I thought it might be fun to share a pair of moment from the demo that illustrates this, through the lens of how I do my work as a level designer.

Remember when Martian Manhunter shapeshifted his brain in Rock of Ages to think like the Joker…?

Even if we could remove billions of tons of carbon from the atmosphere, it would take at least a century after the global CDR system is even built to do it.

Can you imagine international coordination continuing geoengineering seamlessly for a century or more?

Can you?

The thing about solar geoengineering is that once you start you cannot stop *ever* unless somehow you have already removed all the multi-billions of tons of carbon emitted since the day you started.

If you stop at the higher CO2 concentration you get virtually instantaneous catastrophic heating.

"If geoengineering works well initially & you see this temperature drop, the tempempation to keep going & extracting fossil fuels will be greater than ever, because it will seem that you have a technologically that can cut off the link between temperature rises & fossil fuel combustion."

Nothing interesting enough to remember. Erin needs to take the test so we decided we would challenge each other a bit. I really need to do a proper refresher but I haven’t needed it for work in so long, it’s just hard to get motivated to go through it again

at least you can still post. they had to moan in the confessional booth

We’ll know he only has weeks at most when we wake up and see a headline like ‘Trump wins Dubai invitational golf tournament’

Curse the BS character limit... :P

Anyway, Proprietor of Midgets was almost definitely someone who had a circus or side-show that was an act of midgets doing things like clowning.

Anyway, we are playing Night in the Woods together and voice-acting everything ‘for spooky season’

The child is 18 today, which is a weird age to be in Japan now. Old enough to vote; not old enough to drink, and so on.

It feels like a huge weight of responsibility has been removed. We got her THIS far at least. It will never end, the responsibility will never go away…but we made it this far.

Anticommunism is a hell of a drug
New York Times article talking about how "few citizens dare to protest" its construction of electric car and high-speed train infrastructure. No information provided as to why they would want to do such a thing

Just in case, I have managed to get it back to newish condition with a lot of baking soda and scrubbing, but the first time you bake in it, it comes back. I gave up on cleaning it beyond the bare minimum

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

Workin’ on my naan again

There is this insuperable problem that the bottom tastes like pizza ‘cause it is baked in a pizza oven, not a tandoor. That’s not a terrible thing but it’s not quite right either.
Garlic naan cooling on a rack. Looks fluffy and crispy

Yeah, it’s just been kind of a shock for me moving from mostly console back to Steam-land recently. I can’t remember seeing these huge updates to fully-downloaded games even a few years back. But I guess they are just a convenience that makes the game run faster w/o stutters when compiling

Makes sense, thanks. A friend who is a technical art lead described it like this:
