I don't think there's ever been any question about whether existing deep learning techniques would hit a scaling wall. The real question is whether new techniques will emerge that allow model performance to continue marching onwards and upwards...

Good learnings here.

The main takeaway is that native dev knowledge is key, even when using hybrid or cross platform frameworks. Also learned this the hard way over many years of trial and error (albeit with Ionic rather than RN)

haven't used WP in several years but it's sad to see it and its community dragged through the mud by Mullenweg who, before this WP engine situation, always seemed genuinely thoughtful and benevolent. Hope he sees the light and turns this situation around

Key insight on LLMs: Language ability ≠ Intelligence.

The problem with benchmarks is that they often make decisive claims about performance when in reality they say more about the benchmarking methodology than the tech used

"Benchmarks are not numerology. Their results are not a divine revelation. Benchmarks are experiments."

An interesting dilemma on the business model of GenAI tools. Take AI coding tools. These are heavy usage and are sold at what are clearly subsidised rates:

1. *Assuing* there's a real efficiency gain, prices could/should be raised

2. But there's so much competition to keep prices down!
