When Biden was elected people expected the Democrats to attempt to save American democracy from the Republican fascist death cult. Make DC & Puerto Rico states, enact Supreme Court reform, imprison insurrectionist ring leaders. They didn’t. They didn’t even want to try to do any of that.

Like this review of The Pitt. lareviewofbooks.org/article/the-... Describes an aspect I couldn’t put my finger on. I thought I was into it because it both depicts competency porn and is competency porn in terms of Hollywood nailing a serial drama. But it’s actually cringe in an awesome way.

Police are trained to use overwhelming force against a target. If they do not have overwhelming force they are to wait and call for more force. If more force is not coming, they back off. That is the entire strategy. A police force against ICE will not be a fight because the police will back off.
