Are there good, even great Small Indie Publishers?

Absolutely! Most are great! Always vet a publisher with your fellow creators.

But if they're new, have a ton of money, propose a "whole new deal/distribution system" and want a portion of your IP?

Run. That's a Venture Capital Vulture Publisher.

I'm so sick of New Gen Comics Publishers

So many indie publishers I've run from cause it's clearly either IP Farming or NFTs in Disguise.

Protect your IP Ownership, Learn Kickstarter, Stay Independent,

Team up with @comicprintinguk.bsky.social or a larger established publisher to print your work.

Mm'kay, clearly if you all liked those Captain Scarlet threads, then I need to next show you all this unpublished Thunderbirds story I've got hold of from David Motton's archive.

What if I bought the rarer, sci-fi themed holiday specials from these Fleetway/IPC Picture Libraries? 👀

I'm prepping much deeper analytical dives of these scripts and more on Sequential 21 in the coming months - page-by-page analyses, investigations of what would have been edited for publication in the annuals, and beyond.

The invoice for this story, submitted to Century 21 Publishing, tells some fascinating details.

This and another unpublished story were submitted in June 1967. No indication of which annual these stories were submitted for. Hmm.

And yes, Scarlet goes up against heavy-set crew member who Motton spares no details in describing his physical stature.

Right then, shall I tell you all about this unpublished Captain Scarlet story that foreshadows one of UFO's best episodes and features Captain Scarlet going up against a Mysteronised sumo wrestler?

Oh and Captain Scarlet himself doesn't show up in this story until over halfway through - amazing.

I'm upset about this. Here and elsewhere the format is described as a gimmick and something to do with airports. I disagree, for most of my life it was the default size of book (think Discworld) because you could actually hold it comfortably, carry it about in a bag etc
The mass market paperback, light in the hand and on the wallet, once filled airport bookstores and supermarket media aisles. You may never buy a new one again.

I struggle to think of myself as being part of the Gerry Anderson fandom/community, because of explosive personalities like Nicola, here. You get bored/exhausted of being subjected to all the gatekeeping. So to have such gesticulations thrust on me is... well, awkwardly hilarious.
A swift and hearty block if recommended for this one, lads.
