Wayne Thiebaud at The Courtauld. Utterly delicious. More nostalgic than pure pop art, it reminds me of early Stephen Shore photos and even Burra’s American deli counter paintings.

Ha, that sounds fabulous! We were also debating afterwards and it was another churchy one that was up there - an acoustic gig at St James Piccadilly to honour the baptism place of William Blake.

Good God, Patti was on FIRE tonight!
The band were tight, taut and spare and Patti was raw and rocking and potent and magical. I swear we all levitate at moment. Very very special.

Feels like a fact-setting, record-straightening exercise - tho' when it digresses it's more interesting. Would have loved to have had some women talking too, especially Linda or the infamous Conny. A good supplement to, but not the equal of, 'End of the Century'.

Watched 'The Ramones: The True Story' this wkend. It's interesting but a slightly strange affair - v much Tommy's PR exercise, saying all that he needs to get off his chest (mainly that it was all wonderful). The most interesting insights by far are from Arturo Vega, the band's Art Director.

Interesting. I still love Bowie's soul incarnation more than almost anything else, bar Dory/Ziggy/Aladdin. Young Americans just gets better and better and better with age.
