It's so frustrating to see a decade+ of data needed to validate a clear observation anyone could make, only to know that people will still disregard it.
Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says — Streetsblog USA
Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikes and people in cars and on foot, a new study of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

Hoping I don't see a single 2 point conversion attempt from the #Panthers today....

What a game. Infuriating to see the greed for 2 point conversions bite the #panthers in the ass. Had they kept it simple and gone for kicks, they could have tied with a field goal and pushed into OT. Crazy to see those mistakes add up to burn out a really hard-fought 4th qt from #bryceyoung

Here’s the thing: if you believe people like Charlie Kirk are just sharing “opinions,” you can’t, on the other hand, blame left wing rhetoric for his death. Either opinions are powerful and capable of fomenting hatred and violence, or they aren’t.

Of all the flaws with #Overwatch, one that bugged me the most was the stupid post-future hubless bicycles around the maps. Now that someone tried it IRL, I feel pretty damn vindicated. Now I just need someone from @blizzardent.bsky.social to see this.

No matter the time or the people, humans have looked at the winter solstice, the darkest, coldest day of the year, and found it a great excuse to be happy, just because we said so. So, however you celebrate it, have a happy solstice holiday!

There's a housing crisis in many cities.

But cars can park free.

Why not claim public street-space for those who need it?

If you disguise your shelter as a polluting, duly-licensed private vehicle, as artist Michael Rakowitz did...

...the authorities should be fine with it, right?

It is absolutely critical to do this over the next few years if we don't want to go back to the 'Silent Spring' era we were in pre-EPA. Or if we don't want to go back to the sub-prime mortgage era. The list goes on and on.
I’ve always wished Democrats would reframe “regulations” as “protections.” We regulate companies to protect people from drinking poisoned water or losing their life savings. A subtle semantic change that might make a difference.
"Deregulation" sounds great as a slogan and often enough there are absolutely bad regulations out there, but whooo boy I think we've got some real real dangerous stuff headed our way.

WHICH BIKE LANE DO WE BLAME FOR THIS TRAFFIC?

Banner this AM in Toronto over the Gardiner pointing out the obvious, crippling traffic is not caused by bike lanes. What bike lane has the Gardener jammed this and every other morning?!

And it does this all while keeping a barrier to protect people using the lane
Don't tell me my city can't work #BikeTO
This video is for Doug Ford, and all those in my replies saying bike lanes "stop emergency vehicles from getting to their destination". They *allow* emergency vehicles to get to their destination, as seen here on Adelaide. They were designed with emergency services in mind.

A great episode. Healthcare, infrastructure, and labor rights are the 3 material benefits that Democrats should focus on delivering, along with WAY better messaging on what they're doing. The clearest and most honest path to earn votes is to deliver results people SEE and FEEL.
