As AJ Bauer accurately points out in that OPB piece, none of the "journalists" being amplified by the White House and Twitter follow the usual norms of professional journalism. They are creating hype content for ICE and the Trump Administration, but framing themselves as "truth telling outsiders."

Because I live in Oregon & write/research about the history of the far right in the state, I happen to be familiar with the back catalogue of most of these folks and, while they have a 1st Amendment right to say what they want, their track record of accuracy is questionable.

There is an entire stable of far right "influencers" cosplaying as journalists who are in Portland "covering" events there. The person who compiled this list was arrested for his actions on January 6. He texted a friend from DC to celebrate that the Proud Boys were "beating the shit" out of BLM.
