Tech Support maven, big huge Guster Fan, i love dogs and stuff. Refusing to call it Gulf of America because that screws up the lyrics to "Up On Cripple Creek," and I will die on that hill.

Hagerstown has a halloween tradition, the Mummers Parade, which all my new neighbors say is a MUST www.mdtheatre.org/mummers

Probably more apples, driving around, leaf peeping. Still getting to enjoy the new area, the usual

How my admiration for one human can explode and grow so much in just one 40 min. segment is outstanding.

"My concern is not artificial intelligence, but natural stupidity."

feeling this quote from Guillermo del Toro big time this morning. Enjoy this interview from Fresh Air and learn a lot about where he's coming from with the new Frankenstein movie.

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

absolutely agree. it's an album i can admire and adore, but not listen to for great spans of time because of how painful it is and places it brings me mentally in my own past that I prefer not to revisit.

It's outstanding that he has such a catalog, I can go to songs that bring me joy easily.
but i do love the "charismatic leader of a pagan gourd cult" in so many ways.
although i'm LOLing over here, it hurts a little because I've always loved Linus' Christmas Speech.
Compared to all the other current Jesus fans out there, I'm allowing his classic telling of the story to stand as a pure & honest moment in pop culture. I'm embracing that narrative, not some others.
nebraska is pretty grim at times, but... a masterwork. undeniably.

if you liked the movie, i'll give it a chance. i can't help but look at it and think "The Bear Thinks He's A Rockstar" and it's unpossible for me to get beyond that.

How am I controlling myself from just standing up and grooving all the way up and down this metro car.....

"It will be beautiful," Trump said at the time. "It won't interfere with the current building. It won't be - it will be near it, but not touching it. And pays total respect to the existing building, which I'm the biggest fan of. It's my favorite."

I can't believe ANY of this has to be said. Any of it.

wishing everyone good luck with all this. I basically only go to shows i can afford, i buy paper tickets whenever possible, and refuse to buy anything that is over face value. I've missed shows I've wanted to go to because of this. but. yeah.
awwwwwwww i love the big dumb sweetie.
Here is my periodic reminder to go watch the @guster.bsky.social Tiny Desk Concert on @npr.org because you need a break from all the ..... enshittification of the internet.

"breakin' my back just to know your name, 17 tracks and i've had it with this game..."

I've been trying to jog a little bit while out for my walks. My sister made a playlist with me last year. Some songs better than others, but right there Somebody Told Me = 17 min mile pace for my fat ass.
some mornings you have a homemade toll house cookie with your coffee at breakfast and some mornings you have five, maybe six.

Because they are that delicious and you want them. As a Treat.
In the last minutes of the First half TB/Detroit game tonight on ESPN on Sling, the service stopped streaming and we got a message on the screen saying that we needed to restart Sling.

Sling's website is unresponsive. ESPN is no help.

Would like to watch the sportsballs. sigh.

You were dancing
I saw you dancing
Throwing your arms toward the sky
Fingers opening
Like flares
Stars were shooting everywhere
Lines of power
Bursting outward
Along the channels of your song
Mercury waves flashed
Under your feet
Shots of silver in the shell-pink dawn
do you get earworms?
Sometimes I am surprised by a song I haven't heard or thought of in YEARS.

i just posted about the Trifecta, being on the elevator with her, having her be broadcast doing the news in the elevator, and saying "fifth floor" when i got to my floor.

I only ever got a two-fer with her, and a side eye about "yes, i know that's me." as she got off at her floor.
She didn't say that to me, but we definitely gave each other knowing side eye.
I only ever got 2 of those. On the elevator with Susan and her voice announcing the floor.

Susan just retired, and everyone celebrated her. I hope she knew how special she was and is.
