Not too bothered about the new Steam Controller or VR headset, but those rumours of a Valve console? Imagine if that turns out to be true! Valve in the console space? A Steam console machine. I'd bite

Went into CEX at the weekend. Marvelled at price of aging games on all platforms.

Spotted Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

£8.

Cried.

Apparently it's safer to have a new buyable currency rather than have people buy things directly with their Battle.net funds. But why not just use gold like the rest of the game does? Or is this a convenient back door for implementing the game's first premium currency?

I love this because it's potentially The Answer.

Games are struggling because we're in a hit-driven market. Make a hit and Steam will push it. Make a hit and media will cover it. That's great... if you have a hit.

But how does everyone else survive?

@falconeerdev.bsky.social has found a way.

What if you didn't have to spin the roulette wheel every time you released a new game, hoping for it to find an audience? What if there was a better way?

Grand Theft Auto 6 is delayed again. I can feel the collective groan from the industry as it shuffles its pack in response, again.

I wonder if it'll mean games come forward this time. Because if they go back, they'll go back to 2027.
As GTA 6 is delayed again by half a year to November 2026, Take-Two stock immediately begins to drop

I'm happy that Without a Dawn sales have picked up a little bit! At this rate, it should break even sometime next year, and maybe even turn some profit. This is significant for such a niche love project. Thank you all for your incredible support! 💚

It's so strange how Nintendo seems to exist outside of the console wars. Like it just politely excused itself from it a few generations ago. And so, when people worry out loud about the future of consoles, Nintendo seems to be overlooked. It just does its own thing, with its box of crayons...
If consoles are dead, how do we explain the phenomenal success of Nintendo's Switch? www.eurogamer.net/if-consoles-...
November 5, 2025 at 1:30 PM
The success of the Switch is just staggering. It's on course to overtake PS2's seemingly untouchable lifetime record. And this after the Wii U didn't even reach 15m units - the Switch 2 will probably surpass that in one year.
