People who still hang out on Twitter daily bullshitting and posting like business as usual give me the extreme ick.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

So for-profit AI companies have trained on the world's largest collaborative volunteer project and a precious free resource, to make money for their for-profit enterprises. They have crushed traffic to the volunteer project, starving it of donors and volunteers

I cannot recommend you enough to install the Wikipedia app on your devices and use it like you would any search engine. Nowadays they even have tabs so you can open many articles at once.

And, if you can, please donate to the foundation. It has survived the internet enshittification that way.
wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...

My friend Andrew Lih @fuzheado.bsky.social is a freakin hero. A gunman came into his Wikipedia event, and he grabbed and disarmed him. Thanks to him and another brave volunteer, no one was hurt—not even the gunman.

Now let’s ask why we accept a society where this can happen at any large gathering.

Recently had the pleasure of witnessing this IN A 6 PERSON WARD IN A DUBLIN HOSPITAL. People who could really do without hearing TikTok shite and eejits listening to eejits’ voice notes. Society will collapse if this isn’t sorted soon.

Always worth following Byline Times for real news!🤔
That New York Times story lots of people are sharing today about Farage's ties to US anti-abortion groups was first reported by @mc00.bsky.social on Byline Times a year ago bylinetimes.com/2024/11/29/n...
We didn’t manage to engage with Arena last year as the Rotunda Foundation published this book and the associated artwork by Paul McKinley. It would be great if it could happen around Halloween this year! rotundafoundation.ie/gibbet-hill/

#AScareADay Day 15 - The Vampire by Conrad Aiken

Our first vampire encounter in this list. However rather than a single entity preying on individuals, the vampire here seems to represent a catastrophic event. The beginning could hint at plague as much as war

lastly, a common rebuttal to contaminant reporting is that there are unavoidable levels of lead in lots of foods. some context:

taking just one serving of one of the powders we tested would expose you to 45% more lead than the average american gets from everything they eat/drink in a day combined
Everyone needs to see this every now and then.
Thought I had posted it on here before but apparently not
