I'm waiting to reread it one more time but my last finals have been taken, the last paper written. We're celebrating by trying Severance & I made chocolate chip Rice Krispie treats bc holidays. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hate it but hopeful that the science-er bff will like it.

This is kind of a weird humble brag I think but long story short: this is younger Brett Goldstein & he LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE MY EX HUSBAND it's pissing me off (yes he was super hot). I have a type for sure, although I'm thinking Goldstein isn't as mentally effed up as my boys usually are. WERE.

I remember reading a study that essentially said that most people are actually fine with powerful women but infuriatingly hate ambitious women. And yeah, I think a lot of men & shite women just flat out hate Black women having the gall to try.

I have a new, incredibly depressing & mortifying symptom: I constantly drool out one side of my mouth. Like I have to carry a towel around.
It doesn't hurt but it's SO MUCH WORSE than the pain. I don't want to go outside it's so embarrassing.

I was so upset a few days ago, really ready to just give up on my dream career. But my naturally "fuck you I won't do what you tell me" energy has reasserted itself. Plus other than 2 finals this week I have almost a month off during which I plan only to bake & do puzzles. It's gonna be rad.

We have new, *hella* catholic neighbors. As is tradition, I was dropping f bombs whilst trying to untangle the Xmas lights. I saw the husband looking at me, so I yelled "swearing is part of my fucking heritage & if someone has a fucking problem w/it, you know where to fucking find me."

I forgot: at Christmas time the town does these carriage rides, their route takes them right down our street.

I'm a naturalized citizen. Moved here in 85 but didn't become a citizen till 2018 mostly bc i was taught to always distrust the government (i am not kidding) & afraid of engaging them on purpose.
They can pry my naturalization certificate from the cold dead hands I bloodied on their face.
