Mainly whisky. Refreshingly frank, so I'm told. Don't follow me if you are going to get political. I don't care about your cat. Whisky & hort over on substack: https://clairevokins.substack.com/

So lovely to see you! Thanks for stopping by our stand.
Hello October!!

Busy month for me:

3/4/5 October - TWE London Whisky Show. With Torabhaig. Come find me and say hello.

15th October - Beerfly Bedford, English Whisky Tasting

16th - 21st October - Speyside for a mini-break & tastings, (attending not giving).

Hit me up, say hello.
I reckon Benicio del Toro could have had a bigger part, and Sean Penn was epic!!
But, of course the money (suspect millions) spent on celebrity associations (Sabrina Carpenter), money well spent? Imagine prioritising an already super wealthy person over the lives of people making the product.

Watched Long Walk yesterday. A great film I never want to see again (which is a huge compliment). Mark Hamil was a genius casting.
I'm not saying they do, but it is a standard PR practise, used by companies, politicians and governments every single day.

I cannot answer for them, but if it bothers you to this extent, given everything else going on in the world, maybe stop being a Klub member and release yourself from this.
Sometimes, just not talking about a situation creates that distance. Think about all the bad stuff that happens that people just stop talking about, and it gets collectively forgotten. Same thing.

Yesterdays news is todays fish and chip wrapping paper, literally and virtually.
Hey, here is an exclusive for you, as I haven't finished writing the article yet (I was busy writing about cask companies dressing up as indy bottlers instead)...

I asked this question to the team at Bimber. The response was a hard "No". That's it. No more, no less.
I found this article to be fascinating, and its good to finally have a word for the dodgier side of things, SCIVs.
Morning all.

Just a little note to say I will be at the Midlands Whisky Festival in Birmingham this weekend, pouring some Torabhaig and Mossburn delights.

Do come and find me if you are going. Always lovely to say hello!
You can 'choose' to not engage with it. I purposely only read or watch once or twice a week. We are not designed to have all this information, especially when we can't do much other than take it in. Just switch it off, you'll feel better.

📖 A glimpse into the past of London…

From the bustling docks where sherry casks once arrived by the thousand, to the single malt soon to be in your glass

Our upcoming release - Embarque - captures the spirit of that journey, inspired by the historic sherry cask trade
Mr Gray. I am but a lowly blogger. I never needed these skills as an aviation engineer, and certainly not as a construction project manager, where if I fucked up people could die.
I will try harder to do better to earn the respect of a man who still rides on an award from 2013.
Respectfully.
One of THE best articles on cask ownership/brokerage I have read. It's long, but worth it. Educational for sure, and a new acronym to to separate the good from the bad; SCIV
