Confirmation bias is a powerful thing. I knew that I was going to like this whisky before I even opened it. I've been a Starward fan since first trying their first whisky, all the way back in 2018 (See here for review). I have always felt that they offered something different from a lot of other whiskies. This is most likely due to their use of wine casks (and other odd casks - they do a ginger beer cask finish!), but it is also due to their distillate.

I love a whisky tasting, they are great for many reasons, here are my top three: It is always good to try a range of whiskies from the same distillery because it gives you a much better feel for the type of spirit that they produce. You get a chance to hear a distillery's story and find out about their aspirations, passions, and motivations as a company.
