Unwanted DMs get you blocked. So does hatred and people who double down unapologetically on unwarrented rudeness. And just general assholery. I don't got time for that.

It's always good to see priests who still remember there are *seven* Catholic social principles. Also, that noise you hear is the USCCB screeching to the Vatican and getting back nothing, lol

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

Like yes it was the RIGHT thing to do and an amazing thing to do and effective but you also have to emphasize that to a Catholic it is also a COURAGEOUS thing to do.

Having been in the presence of a Monstrance before like. They TOOK IT OUT OF THE CHURCH. That alone- they didn't know what was going to happen! Someone could have done so many more things other than 'turned them away' and they TOOK THE MONSTRANCE to that. To THAT.

I don't think we can emphasize enough how big and shiny and ATTENTION grabbing a Monstrance is. And how HOLY its considered. You can NOT mistake a Monstrance for anything else. If you don't know what it is, you ask yourself "What the hell is that?", and you're already wrong because its that HOLY.

To break it down a little, as someone who was raised Catholic... actually no the right wording here is that its the formal and Catholic language equilivant of "Well, bless his heart" with the undertones of "or else he'll be Finding Out"
chromatographic.bsky.social
It's an Excellently Catholic diss, yeah
chromatographic.bsky.social
(Shrieking) They broke out the MONSTRANCE?! AND GOT TURNED AWAY?!!??!

My Dad is the same except he can't finish any non-plant related projects ever so its a disaster. He would happily work a 16 hr day if you wanted him too, though.

Oh, hi, entirely predictable migraine. You decided to actually hit and hit hard, huh.
chromatographic.bsky.social
Do we need more curses on his name for the event i will simplify as the stairs thing? Because. Because I am still appalled.
chromatographic.bsky.social
I'd happily attend tbh

My college did an apple tasting event every fall and I still have very very fond memories of it.

It's rare for folks doing local community organizing to ask who's not there and why they're not there.

The assumption is "the people who care and who we should care about are here".

Fuck Yeah, I am so ready to start this med!!
chromatographic.bsky.social
Wait. (Does a google) wait. So if the drug I've been approved for by insurance, Tezspire, basically works upstream in the same system as Xolair, it'll also probably have a mast cell stabilizing effect? That'd be amazing tbh. Singulair changed my life more than any other med and I want better.

Maybe it's the Autism, but I am eternally exhausted by the 'Rules for thee but not rules for me' attitude we get from general society.

I'm sorry I didn't let you keep lying to me, or possibly even yourself. And hey, blocking me as a response is probably the least bad way to handle that. But I'm glad I mostly defeated the RSD symptoms.

Also, I'm lying, I'm not actually sorry, that's just the social code allistics demand I follow.

Gracious. As an Autistic adult, I cannot ignore that subtext is a fucking thing. And yet when I point out that someone, presumably allistic, is ignoring the subtext of their statement to go, "I didn't say that!"... suddenly, I'm the one who is the bad guy. Strange how that happens. So, so strange.
