I remember a high school
English project where we had to do a presentation on any subject and some girls in my class did an anti-abortion slideshow set to R.E.M. music (lol).

I remember falling out with my conservative church at 13
because of their homophobia even though I'd never met a gay person.

I grew up in a deeply
evangelical small town in Ohio in the 90's. That community was extremely white, deeply racist, extremely homophobic and judgmental.

My parents' generation was super racist, but they took pains to hide it from us. So a lot of young conservatives in the 90s and early aughts were earnest small government and/or evangelical types.

As I said, the overt racists and radicals had to form their own orgs.

Someone who knows something about clothes please help this formerly skinny guy find some shirts. Medium regular fits are generally a little tight up top and I feel like I’m going to Superman out of them. Larges are like wearing a mumu.

It’s getting cooler which means discovering that almost none of my shirts fit because my shoulders, chest and biceps are too big for them. It’s either because all the work I’m doing outside is giving me some muscle or because as I age I’m morphing into a troll’s body shape. Or both. Who could say?
