Keys for "Deedlee Doo! Carkour!" are going to start going out tomorrow🚗

If you are a streamer/press, hit me up!💥

If you ever wanted to do parkour with a car, this is for you! This is an easy game to pick up, but hard to master. Every time you mess up, my kids laugh at you.🤣
Announcing my next game!🤘

"Deedlee Doo! Carkour!"🔥

-A game where you do parkour with a car using explosions
🚗💥
-Everything in the game is made out of clay in real life🎨
-The sound effects and music are all mouth sounds👄

Wishlist it now on Steam, out on May 12th, 2025!🎸
I'm loving it, the RNG is sort of like a "fog of war" you clear out as you learn how to minimize it's impact, and the game gives you ways to put your thumb on the scale. Even "bad runs" give valuable progress as far as I can tell. That said, I had to let go of RNG-stressing to enjoy it.

Agree with Tim Cain, your channel is great!
TIL: "Irony poisoning is the process or altered state wherein one genuinely echoes provocative sentiments they once held ironically."
What a phrase for this age.
I see a fair amount of dev discussion around designing for "antics potential" to encourage the performative aspect of streamers. Just the economics of it impact design.
Love your work, good to see you back!

Warner Bros' closure of Monolith Productions is dreadfuly sad. This is an under-appreciated studio that has made banger after banger, and pushed the industry forward. Here's a quick video on Why Monolith Mattered youtu.be/qywq_1GVIGI

Had an idea in the shower last night, hacked together a few scripts, and although it's crude, I am happy to say that in-game editor access is quite achievable with Godot!

Also often true in game design. If you just explain a game mechanic, the player will struggle to recall, but if they figure it out through experimentation and clear feedback, it'll stick. I call this "sparky design": given 2 rocks to bang together, they get sparks, then they set the world on fire.
Yes! Narratives are built in a readers head. If you tell them something they probably won’t remember it - if you hint and they figure it out, they’ll never forget it
I need to elaborate on this more at some point when I am less busy with work, but I believe small, internally consistent references do a lot more work to support an immersive narrative than any big lore sweep or dive ever will.
This series from @doublefine.com and @2playerproductions.bsky.social is a pretty amazing peek inside the realities of game development. I can't lie, the first episode triggered a little PTSD for me, for all the times I've been on teams that cared deeply about the work and the world did not.
