Of all the wonderful depictions of Pleistocene life shown in Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, few can compare with the beauty and realism of these psilopterines. I don't think I'm exaggerating to say this is the first and only time terror birds have been done properly in a documentary.

El Chochín común es un pájaro muy inquieto y en constante movimiento , aquí aparece en una pose "calmada" , pero tuve que echarle una ráfaga de 20 fotos , para conseguir una un poco decente . La foto es un poco oscura ,porque está hecha en un bosque de pinos y mucho matorral , aparte de que en el Monte de Vilaboa, en Otoño/Invierno , casi siempre está nublado o con niebla .

ze is gewend dat ik vroeg op de tuin kom, dan wacht ze me op! Er waren vanochtend werkelijk drie, k heb ze ook vastgelegd, anders zie ik geen verschillen... Witveertje is altijd heel voorzichtig en heeft, net zoals vorige winters, zo haar schuilplekjes ♥️

La hembra de la Curruca capirotada, presenta un plumaje muy similar al macho , excepto por el capirote , que en este caso es de color castaño . El macho de la curruca capirota , exhibe un capirote negro , ( de ahí proviene su nombre en inglés y holandés z) y cuando está alterado por algo , lo mantiene erizado .

El herrerillo común ( Cyanistes caeruleus ) , también llamado herrerillo azul, es un pequeño pájaro muy reconocible por su colorido plumaje t su comportamiento activo . Su principal alimentación se compone de insectos, larvas, arácnidos y, en otoño e invierno , semillas y frutas .

Went to see North Shields’ new Mary Ann Macham statue this morning.

I love that she’s looking out to the mouth of the Tyne, signalling Shields’ maritime histories and those who arrived from distant ports.

She clearly echoes too the other ship figureheads in the town, our “wooden dollies”.

Still plenty in bloom here in central Scotland for #wildflowerhour - Wild Radish in an arable field, Jersey Cudweed in paving and Sweet Alison making a bid for freedom from a nearby planter.
The Cudweed is a recent coloniser, and seems to be spreading from Grangemouth along the Forth & Clyde Canal

La lavandera cascadeña de la foto nos muestra su plumaje invernal , y está posada sobre un tronco costado en sección inclinada . Podemos observar su larga cola , que mueve constantemente hacia arriba y abajo , mientras camina . Justo debajo de este tronco , tengo la charca , y la lavandera se siente muy atrída por el agua, ya que remueve las hojas secas caídas sobre la charca , en busca de pequeños insectos .
