I have scienced too close to the sun and done the proverbial "one experiment too many".

Happy Friday.

Ah, yarn chicken. We meet again.

I should have juuust enough of the purple left for toes, but I'll have to start back on the partner sock soon to see if I can get to a reasonable foot length on both socks with the blue before starting the toes.

This is a title that desperately needs some form of clarifying punctuation, as I assume it meant U.S. troops were tops at trading guns and that is a whole *very different*, but also *very probable* problem.

I heard there was a secret cord,
You plug it in and you meet the Lord,
But you don't really care for OSHA, do ya?
It starts like this, the black, the red.
You touch it once and then you're dead,
The voltage and the current running through ya...
Tis the season

I realize "services" like fiver and taskrabbit have been around for a bit, but the ads I'm getting for Airtasker on my podcasts feel like a depressing but logical extension of the AI drive to outsource everything, including thinking.

Bought this zero alcohol gin and tonic and lesson learned: always read the label. First taste was all artificial sweetener and it turns out they've fucked it up by adding stevia.

It tastes like it's trying to knock off a really bad brand of diet tonic water and hasn't met a gin in its life.

Only tangentially related to the image, this is why I made sure "Cabinet I" in our laboratory was intentionally labeled with a serif font (our label maker default font is helvetica).

Dangerous news: turns out that HEB just puts out seasonal sewing kits, including this mini version.

Not sure why they keep filling them with butter cookies, but that's easy enough to fix.

Went through my closet this morning and it turns out I have a LOT more clothes to donate than I expected.

Fingers crossed I can find someplace better than Goodwill to donate them.

Hey, guess who decided to make things up with yarn again?

This is a mosaic knitted sock cuff worked out from some photos of a shawl someone posted online. I haven't figured out what the rest of the sock will look like yet.

First of all, how dare you, etc...
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

In better news, I was informed today that I have now donated over 5 gallons (20 L) of blood/platelets/etc, which is a worrying amount when you think of it in terms of pails.

But I got a mug that is 100% lying about the coffee part, so there's that.

There is so much queso on this "Taco Salad" that it would more accurately be described as taco soup with some lettuce in it.
