Historian of eugenics here. I don't normally like to retweet bad arguments, but this is such a fundamental misunderstanding of eugenics, I think it's important to point out. I don't have time to debunk all of the ways this is inaccurate, but I'll highlight a few things and then recommend some books🧵

No wonder I've been struggling on this project between internet issues and overall stress... I misunderstood it and did a whole bunch of extra work.

I only realized it after looking at my assignments due this week that are showing me the right way to do the stuff I figured out on my own.

Jack Kirby had the first 10 issues of Captain America Comics bound. He sketched on the endpapers and gifted the book to his wife, Roz, and I hereby declare this one of the coolest single items in the history of humankind.

Interesting thread, media rights and producing lines have been fascinating and getting a lot of attention lately.
“Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter he earned high seven figures for the role, plus a seven-figure producing fee.”

I should do a blog post on this, but I’ll do a brief thread here, as it’s something in the comics industry that riles me up.

Unhinged take:
If you enjoy a piece of writing, you should read a paragraph forwards, then backwards in sequence with the paragraph before it, then backwards by word, and forwards out loud. Specifically out loud.
Break up the flow and examine the words, then experience the flow through your ear.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

“Enshittification” was a term coined by Cory Doctorow, in 2022, to describe how the technologies that dominated our daily lives seemed to be all getting worse at the same time. Now, in a new book, he expands on the word that has become bleakly relevant.
