apologies that I continue to push my shop while the horrors continue 🫠 today’s the last day for prints and stickers and then I’ll close up shop at least until Nov/Dec (or, yknow, if other things happen, potentially forever lol)

If you’re ever worried about resume gaps, just remember that Luke Skywalker pulled an irish goodbye on the rebel fleet to go hang out with a pot smoking frog for months and STILL made General in less than 2 years

I’m currently secluded at a cabin in the woods. It would be very easy for me to run by the local dispensary and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind (not in a serious way, just a brief intrusive thought). But I would honestly rather sit in my discomfort than blur my way out of it.

Cover reveal! I'm doing a MINECRAFT book!

This was a wild ride. My goal was to deliver a fun romp with plenty of deepcut nods for the superfans, but also sneak in a little gutpunch of feels.

MINECRAFT: ONE LAST QUEST hits shelves on October 21.

if white Americans didn’t want Mexicans in California maybe they should not have conquered California from Mexico and then spent 150 years building up an economy entirely dependent on the flow of people and goods across the border just a thought

You can always recycle, refine and rework those old ideas down the road. You'd be surprised how a little life experience and development as an artist can turn an old flawed concept into something beautiful.

When you're starting out pitching, learn to both embrace and learn from failure. Be like young Stephen King and proudly collect those rejection letters. No experience is a failure when you learn something from it. In fact, it's literally the only way to learn.

We all have our own personal struggles, so we all have something unique to say. Learning how to distill that into simple concepts and make it entertaining and engaging comes from experience.

- but the truth is, those comparisons are actually vital for helping people get a quick mental image of your concept. The originality comes from combining that with your unique POV on life born from experience and dealing with adversity.

I used to shy away from providing examples of similar shows / characters in pitches because I was worried about my ideas not seeming original enough -

It’s great to have shows and movies you love influence you, but your unique POV on life is what’s going to make something feel NEW and give you something original to say.

One important factor in trying to pitch your own shows that I don’t see talked about enough is that you need to just... *live life* for a while first.
