Another example of vibe shift between Trump’s first presidency and now: In 2017, Teen Vogue stood out for outspoken, social-justice politics. In 2025, it laid off its entire politics team, including the last two Black women journalists on staff.

NBC and CBS have made similar moves.

Red Planet was a science fiction film that debuted in theaters in 2000.

Watch at least the first 45 seconds or up to just after the first minute (up to the title drop, if you’d like).

I did have a good night, thanks! Now I’m gearing up for YouTube to remove and add movies at this change in the month (much compulsive sorting of playlists to keep me occupied for a couple of days). And your pumpkin uses are as it should be.😀🎃👍

Australia: Nurse among patients calling for better access to long COVID treatment

Former ICU nurse Julie Mirtschen, 43, from Port Macquarie, developed long COVID after back-to-back flu and COVID infections in March 2020.

Researchers say she’s among up to 870,000 Australians living with long COVID.

Please #boost / #repost, because this First Amendment rights violation is so stunning it needs to be known about everywhere (and I’d suggest avoiding Perry County, TN, and all things Perry County, TN-related).

I only just had this story recommended to me on YouTube.
If you haven’t heard about it either, you #MustWatch it right now.

$7M to several Ohio food banks feels like providing a bandage suitable for addressing a paper cut on a finger to stem the blood flow from an amputated limb—woefully insufficient (and yet so typical of a state government focused on lining its pockets at the expense of its population: First Energy 👀).
And do SNAP users know where food banks near them are?

Are the food banks within short walking distance or on bus routes?

Most food banks can’t cater to those with food allergies—with SNAP they could choose what was safe but with random food bank offerings will more suffer allergen exposures?
So Ohio is giving $7M to food banks… are they going to help the stores impacted by lost business?

Are they supplying the extra personnel at the food banks to distribute to more people?

Many area food banks are only open 1-4 times a month or by appointment only (unlike stores).
⬆️ And how will food banks “pick up the slack when they are already struggling to cope with high demands, especially amid reports of grocery store prices increasing. ‘They're supposed to help with emergencies, they're not supposed to constantly step up when the federal government refuses to act’”
⬆️“Smaller convenience stores, which make up the majority of grocery shops that accept SNAP credits, are also likely to feel the pinch, as Plata-Nino notes: ‘They operate on such a small margin that if 50% of your client base doesn't show up for the week, it's going to hit their own margin rates.’”
For Weld Food Bank (CO), serving about 1,700 people daily, the possibility of SNAP delays is daunting...
“For every meal that a food bank provides, SNAP provides 9. We don’t have the capacity to bear that burden because we can barely do the 1 meal now,” a Weld FB director.
