Yep!
My Mum is on the supported living payment. She does this as a way to get out of the house. And she does it on her mobility scooter.
Even if she could pick up more runs, she wouldn’t even get close to having enough each week?!

Joys… our bus, which showed it was 9 minutes away, never showed up. Been sitting at this bus stop for the past 30 minutes

Partner is on his way to pick us up instead…

🙃 and for the areas that still do…

my Mum does 2 local runs… 2 different freebie newspapers… 1 pays 5 cents per paper, the other 7 cents.

She spends about 5 hours per week delivering, and gets $30

Sure… that’ll help…

Simeon Brown tells young jobseekers to “get a paper run” on RNZ this morning 🙀

He is so out of touch, he thinks neighbourhoods still get a daily newspaper delivered

Yep… sitting on my bed staring at this view definitely helps calm my emotions again after supporting the 7yo through a meltdown…
Looking over a suburb with houses with their lights on. The sky has the sun set, but still shows a hint of orange mixed with blues. There are clouds rolling across the sky.

I saw a post somewhere that looked at total numbers and it said more people did vote yes - sorry, can’t remember who did that post though

Only got the 1 day though

Tonight was another massive meltdown

And I got to have an asthma attack during it too
chaneyz85.bsky.social
Just realised that today was the first day in weeks that we haven’t had to support the 7yo through a meltdown

Hoping this is the start of him finally settling down a bit after so much unknowns
chaneyz85.bsky.social
It’s all good! It’s hard to remember sometimes
chaneyz85.bsky.social
It’s because they are the only boxes I have really done 😂 I’m ignoring the rest
chaneyz85.bsky.social
Yeah, will definitely slow down now. Have just been trying to clear boxes out of our main living space
chaneyz85.bsky.social
We have officially unpacked all our boxes labelled kitchen!

I’m just ignoring all the boxes in the study and in the spare room 🙃😂
chaneyz85.bsky.social
True! I’d forgotten that one

The Kākāpō is referenced in the new season. One of the characters names people after a bird that they think they behave like.

I think it’s a pretty cool reference!

Oh! Sorry, wasn’t me who made that comment. I haven’t seen that movie (which is kind of surprising, I do like my superhero movies)

Andrea Compton was elected in Takapū/northern. She started her campaign as part of them. But she was one of them that distanced themselves after Chungs comments about Whanau.

I wonder if the distancing might have favoured her? But not sure, given how the ward can vote

I love the fact that his justification for his piss poor result in the local elections is that Wellington City voters are uninformed and don't know what they're voting for.

Of all the ways to show how spectacularly you are off the mark, to suggest Wellington is politically ignorant...amazing
chaneyz85.bsky.social
I wanna lean to the fact that it did too. But same as you, just reckons

I knew I was never going to be entirely happy with my ward, when there were only 2 candidates I wanted

Only 1 of them got elected.

The 2 who were elected that I don’t like are zero rates rise people 🙃

*sigh* I see my home towns council has voted to remove Māori wards

I shouldn’t be surprised though, Blenheim is quite racist

A good thing about having more room?

The 7yo is getting a box fort for him to play in
There is 1 box stuck on top of another one. The bottom box has a hole in it. There is a boy sitting inside the box. There is a man sitting beside these boxes holding another empty box
chaneyz85.bsky.social
He’s feeling better today. He came into my room and told me

“Mum, I’m strong again”
chaneyz85.bsky.social
Just discovered why having stairs and a slow lift in the house sucks for me

7yo cried out. Says his head is really sore.

He’s cuddled up with Dad now. Starting to go back to sleep. But I didn’t like that I couldn’t get to him quickly too.

Was able to come up eventually & give him pamol though ❤️
