We're living through one of those rare historical periods: a revolution by the rich. Usually, the rich oppose revolution because they benefit from the status quo. But this is a period where they think they can benefit from radical change (see the fencing of the commons in 18th Century Britain).
Why doesn't somebody write a book about how the media threw the 2024 election for Trump because he's good for their business model (he makes news, they sell news)? Easy to write, especially with the Nuzzi revelations.

Is it because that person would be permanently ostracized by the media?

"Surrender at Appomattox" by Tom Lovell shows the surrender of the Confederate forces. Lee is dressed in a brand-new, tailor-made uniform and shiny boots. Grant is dressed in a private's uniform on to which general's stars had been hastily sewn. 1/

The concept of a unitary executive is that the president can unilaterally nullify Congress's attempts to restrain presidential power.

If America fails, what nation will pick up the mantle of freedom?

Cocaine prices are down 20% this year because the market is flooded by drugs smuggled across the border.

Trump said he was going to reduce drug prices. He just didn't specify which drugs.

The collapse of the housing bubble and the dot com bubble both came out of nowhere. Everybody sees the AI bubble collapsing but maybe there's more we aren't seeing.

It's going to be a long time until America elects another convicted felon to be president.

Maybe.

Okay, there needs to be a Grammy category for this. And this needs to be the winner.
What do you get when you mix the best selling single of the king of pop with the lately departed queen of MAGA?

This is what we get: a parody of Billie Jean about #mtg #maga #marjorietaylorgreene 🎶🕺

Hey, remember when Olivia Nuzzi wrote her article "The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden," while she was banging RFK, Jr. but not telling anybody about it?

Good times.

Harry Truman was talked out of running in 1952 because of his age, his "failing abilities" and his poor showing in the polls.

He's now considered one of the best presidents of the 20th Century.

Hi, former turkey farmer here who raised flocks of heritage breed turkeys specifically for Thanksgiving:

What?!
Trump: "Despite their size, Secretary Kennedy has formally certified that these are the first ever MAHA turkeys. They could be fat, but they're still MAHA. They've been fattened on a steady diet of grass, beef, to allow the smoothies and all the other things they have been eating for this occasion."

@pbump.com is being a bit snide here but more background is useful.

On the right, he's showing how Trump's AI/Crypto Czar begged for a bailout after he played a key role in starting a run on the bank.

On the left, Sacks is begging already.
You have to keep giving money to avoid collapse and if there’s collapse you have to give more money. It’s called the free market.

It only makes sense that Trump invade Venezuela as he would be the fourth GOP president in a row to invade a foreign country. In the same time period, there have been three Democratic presidents, none of whom have invaded a foreign country.

It's OK that Mamdani kissed Trump's ass. He represents the people of NY and it's not in their interest for the mayor-elect to unnecessarily piss off the president.

But Mamdani should understand that this will not last and in a couple of months Trump will be calling for his execution or something.
