His first car

Found, financed and fixed up
By himself

He stood,
Invincible,
As only a
Proud 16 year old
Can be.

Now,
The girl
Who saw his salvaged old VW Beetle as
Sexy
Was the One for him.

“I know you’ve been hungry, my pets, but I’ve been saving a very special treat. In life, this person was a mean, self-centered man, but now, in death, his flesh is sweet.”

He tipped the dermestid #beetles into the shallow grave. #vss365

OK you two, @holyhera.bsky.social and @emersynlaughs.bsky.social,
now I REALLY want to see the cursed edition!!!
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
Well set up. In fact, so well, that I feel🤮
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
See??! You can't even stop inspiring yourself! 🙊

Hmmm, interesting. I think of light as energy/electromagnetic radiation, maybe communication? but not as living or a thing itself. But I actually define it that way because it's (probably) immaterial. I shouldn't explore that any further now though.

We witness. We create. We resonate.

😂

I just did 3! But only because I wanted to tell you that I did do press-ups, plural, and because the cat was under me for the second one, so I couldn't go all the way down. I also thought I would die after the first one, and reconsidered.

I guess you are a devilishly inspiring!
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
And how are the press-ups going? I should really do some too....
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
Oh good! As a fellow empath, I was a little worried it would come across a bit hurtfully. I'll take delight!!
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
Good addition. And yes, that's another tension I definitely feel, that also comes up in this poem. I couldn't figure out how to link it, so I just did a screenshot.
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
I mean, that sounds like a manly empath to me! Except, maybe, for the first couple lines. I mean, anyone who doesn't admire a manly, or womanly, brave empath can just go fuck themselves until they're on the receiving end of needing compassion and learn to value it.

Thank you for the addition.

Pain taking form is exhalation?

I wrote an earlier poem about artists as a living prism/lens...but hadn't thought about the possibility of adjusting the aperture for pain control.

🥰
Have I told you before that I see you as a Blessed Poetry Matriarch/Godmother? In the best sense of Matriarch/Godmother. Thank you for all your encouragement - we developing poets owe part of our growth to people like you!

Also, I haven't seen someone quote a poem with an analysis like you did. Since imitation is the sincerest form of compliment, I'm going to start doing that. And quote your analysis on my own feed so others can benefit from it as much as I did.
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
Thank you, Murmur. I feel honoured that someone I respect as highly as yourself, would quote and comment on my work.

Not only that, but your summary provides insight on what I am wrestling with that I need. "Moral dissonance." That's the source of my pain. Now, how to live with it?
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
If you could just explain to me "how they need to" and maybe "how to know when events are necessary and when I can alter them," I'd be golden! 😅

Oh, wait. And explain "how to cope when I hate/am hurt by necessary events." I need that one too! 😝

For me, it's the way you beautifully captured our human sacredness and imperfection, even in the most serious, emotional context of bereavement. And in doing so, help us accept this most difficult part of our own humanity.

I agree, I prefer Gerber Daisies or dahlias, but it didn't matter in the context of your word-picture poem.

But we humans have a long relationship with roses as an aesthetic ideal, so maybe it was the best choice of flower for its relatability.
cdotjuniper.bsky.social
Wow.

I want to say more, but for now, just wow.
