Me: I want to refill this med
Pharmacy: Ok
[Refill request disappears]
Me: What just happened
Pharmacy: It’s not covered by insurance
Me: Right but I have a manufacturer coupon
Pharmacy: Has to go thru insurance first
Me: But if it goes thru insurance, I won’t need the coupon
Pharmacy: Yes you will

I just want someone to tell me what to do so that I can be free to do the opposite, unless I decide the opposite is NOT what I want to do and then I’ll do what the person says I should. Unless that’s not what what’s best.

Anyway, big decision.

@marcpouhe.bsky.social to your point about college degrees needing to be robust and varied - here’s an example of how “the arts help us see things differently” and specifically how a play about math contributed to medical science and helped oncologists save lives. Such a great story.
I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

A Stanford math professor interviewed Stoppard and asked if he’d had to do a lot of research for Arcadia. Stoppard replied that he didn’t study deeply. He read a book about complex math and then just wrote the characters truthfully. I think about that all the time.

Saw a billboard advertising a pest control company called Pro Pest. I was fully occupied for over an hour with the thought that they should instead be called Anti Pest.

The aide to a Republican congressman from New Jersey “faked being the victim of what she claimed was a politically motivated slashing in July, a narrative that quickly unraveled when investigators found spare zip ties in her Maserati.”

America is just one big reality tv show at this point.

Fingers crossed that the judge’s ruling in case is 473 pages of memes of Robert Downey Jr rolling his eyes followed by the words, “Dismissed because it’s all bullshit.”
The facts are complicated, but here’s a summary of what appears to have happened based on the filings and today’s hearing:
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

There will be two options for women with ectopic, dangerous, or otherwise unsurvivable pregnancies: 1) die; 2) terminate the pregnancy and pay the ENTIRE COST out of pocket, even with insurance. (And still potentially die.)
Democrats blinked. Again. Six weeks into a GOP-made shutdown, they folded without securing ACA subsidies. Republicans saw the collapse coming and instantly pivoted to abortion. Now they're trying to extend Hyde to private insurance.

Congressional Democrats face a new dilemma: Vote against affordable health care, or accept a nationwide rollback of abortion coverage.
