anybody in #toronto who might be willing to go to mount pleasant crmetery and take a picture of my grandmother’s grave and the plot it’s in? she died long before i was born. i dont know if there’s a stone, but i’d still like to have a couple photos for my collection.

happy travels, miss major

We honor the legacy of Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, a fierce protector of our collective freedom. Our hearts are with her loved ones and all who carry her vision forward.

"We will honor Miss Major forever." - @imarajones.bsky.social
An illustration of Miss Major surrounded by candles with blue background and a famous quote of hers written in gold. The quote reads“I don’t need their permission to exist; I exist in spite of them. I want you to train and teach and love on and create families within my community and gender non-conforming people, so that we can understand that we have a culture, we have a history, we have a reason to be here. We have a purpose. We’re entitled to be loved, and seek happiness, and share that with the people that we care about.” -Miss Major Griffin-Gracy

late in the evening, stories and songs celebrating brave, smart, funny, etc cats are told and sung.
catastrfy.bsky.social
children play pin the tail on the pussycat, dice games with specusl dice with different colours of cats eyes, guessing games, racing games, and bslancing games.

cat masks are very popular, from simple paper ones to elaborate leather ones.

i’m imagining a subset of celebrants who make katzennogge every year for katzennacht, which is eggnog with whipped cream folded in. it can be made sans alvohol, but there are an infinitude of alcoholic variants.
catastrfy.bsky.social
tarts and ginger and licorice candies for the humans.

a fire in the hearth

who’s in?

i just read about wolfenoot and propose “katzennacht” for the december full moon to celebrate cats.

offerings of catnip, toy mice, feather and ribbon wands, and other toys, as well as wooly soft bedding.

roasted meats for the cats, as well as festive foods including custard— 1/2

more re hive
rahaeli.bsky.social
And bsky.app/profile/raha... covers "but what if they're LYING when they say they don't use data submitted to the moderation model to train the generative models on"
rahaeli.bsky.social
Following up a bit on the "but how do we know Hive/Bluesky isn't lying when they say they don't train generative AI on images submitted to their moderation machine learning models": here's the page for Hive's image generation models: thehive.ai/apis/image-g...
catastrfy.bsky.social
he's making it sound like something bad, but he's referring to the content moderation service that bluesky outsources to! their system goes thru photos and scores for things like CSA, torture, rape, & other prohibted content.

rah's got a great thread here: bsky.app/profile/raha...
rahaeli.bsky.social
This is going around again and it is not true. Like every site on the internet, Bluesky uses machine learning to do a first-pass approximation of image classification to detect and label content. They have repeatedly confirmed outside services do not use Bluesky user data to train their models.

meds wishes!

i have less than a week of lysine left & i am completely out of the calcium bhb; it's part of the electrolyte mix that helps my pots dramatically and means i don't have to add salt heavily to all food due to salt loss from chronic anaphylaxis YAY

if it's from tightness/spasms, magnesium spray works well for me sometimes. (and not at all other times bc why are bodies?)

oh nooooo. all the vibes. ack.

upside: my cognition IS noticeably better! (i've been on daily benadryl since 1998)

downside: pain since doing that is significantly worse; it was already at the point where the homemade medical mj tincture i take daily prn is used for treating end-stage cancer pain and i am struggling to deal
catastrfy.bsky.social
this this this wrt the studies about benadryl

it's me. i'm people.
rahaeli.bsky.social
A whole lot of people with MCAS are really, really fucking tired of hearing about those studies, because the latency of possibly developing dementia is measured in decades while the latency of dying of anaphylaxis is measured in minutes

THANK YOU.

so very seriously.

people keep telling me it's dangerous and NOT GETTING the reasons i cannot just stop it. there is nothing else i have that will stop severe reactions!

(i HAVE managed to go to 25 mgs/night, down from 50. unless i'm have an mcas reactioin. BUT)
catastrfy.bsky.social
alll the solidarity!

the biggest rule when i was growing up was don't mess with my grandma's schedule and never spring things on her unexpectedly, because she'd have "a little break down"

she found so many social rules utterly baffling. she'd explain to me as "it doesn't make sense, but [thing]"
catastrfy.bsky.social
ooh, thank you so much! i'll dm you!
