Hey everyone,

I hate asking again, but the movers we hired ripped my family off. Quoted us about $4k then extorted another almost $4k. I’m sick from overwork, will have to miss work to recover and we’re down a lot more than planned.

See quoted posted below for donation links.

Anything helps.

Prison journalism project published some of the most moving articles I read anywhere this year, consider donating! Empowering incarcerated people to tell their own stories matters
If you want to support our work and/or even pass this along to MacKenzie Scott (hey, you never know!), please consider making a donation. Your gift will be matched! Our goal is to raise $50K by Dec. 31. Help us get there. ⤵️ S/O Bluesky if you make a donation.
On the outside, reporters write what they see.
On the inside, writers report what they live, what they hear, feel and notice in ways no one else can.

That’s the power of lived-experience journalism
And it’s the reason Prison Journalism Project exists.

People need food. Market won’t provide it. Government should. It’s literally the whole point.
Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)

In 2013, Whole Foods workers in Chicago staged a “Strikesgiving” walkout to demand Thanksgiving off.

A year later, they won: no more mandatory shifts, voluntary sign-ups, and double pay for those who work.

Proof that organizing works.

The US invasion of Afghanistan directly killed over 200,000 Afghanis and indirectly killed around 360,000 more. These numbers are probably tremendous underestimates because often there was no one left alive to count the dead. We bombed weddings and funerals, we shot children in their beds.

the invasion of Afghanistan is among the most horrific recent chapters of the long history of elite impunity in the US. this coda is grim but fitting - the govt practically explicitly affirming that it should only be Afghans who live with the consequences amid fading public memory of the atrocity
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

We will never stop punishing Haitians for having had the temerity, over two hundred years ago, to free themselves by force
DHS has announced the end of temporary immigration protections for Haitians.

The decision, effective Feb. 3, 2026, affects up to more than a half million Haitians. They now face returning to a country plagued by criminal gangs that control all major roads into the capital Port-au-Prince.

Literally all of society hates this abominable scam homunculus and the weird little death cult bubble of vampiric losers who spewed it forth upon the world. Take a break from bragging about how gullible you are and give yourself a swirlie and stuff yourself in a locker and sort yourself out.
