I'm Caroline, a digital artist who works on sci-fi worldbuilding project Embers

Most my pieces are 2D but there is also some 3D. I try to go as hard on technical details as possible

I mainly post on Bsky but personal site with lore, fulls and unglazed pieces is coming soon™️

I get the struggle with being more active, in the same place myself. And it's ok! There's no obligation to post 24/7, take care of yourself, that's what's important

Fan fact, I drew anything even remotely romantic only 2 times. 1 being this one and both of them are of these OCs

First one has been the first time I drew a couple and also first openly queer OCs. Pre-egg Caroline was onto something with them

and it sucks!! it sometimes means you will be sitting by the table with some awful people!! but the other choices are tables with even worse people or going hungry, which helps noone!! so gotta eat for now and see when flipping the table becomes an option.

Close up of a militaristic light armored fighting vehicle, styled with components reminiscent of lunar landers/rovers with large, wide, hollow wheels. In lieu of a normal gun turret, it has a high powered laser similar to those found on modern naval ships.

a drop ship like craft with four large rocket clusters on each corner. The ship looks like its been stripped, with lots of exposed steel superstructure that holds simple box shapes and tubular pressure vessels. Its entire midsection is one large telescoping gantry crane. Four poles stick up from its back like spines, on top of which are RCS thruster clusters. The ship also has a remote turreted cannon suspended from its flat front face by a small cantilevered truss. The ship is asymmetrical, with a bubble cockpit suspended from a vertically oriented pressure tube on its front face off on one side.

dust trail faked by using an extruded curve object that tappers towards the back wheels of the light armored vehicle. the curve is then duplicated by an array with a very tight spread, and a noise texture is used to dictate the alpha of the curves material so it appears billowy like smoke.

a small, detailed crater field mesh placed on top of a much less detailed mountain range mesh

resting on a neutron star... the gravity pulls down like a weighted blanket, the surface is warm and the little millimetre-scale deviations are fun to run your fingers across, the view above is a hypnotising cascade of blueshifted starlight rushing overhead

Chems have gas generators and combustion chamber but specifics vary drastically depending on its cycle

Knowing engine details should be easy to look at engines in same category and look for main common parts

A lot of engines use foil or other form of covers so you can't see any of it anyway lol

A bit hard to tell without specifics, depends on the type of engine, cycle, propellants and your style. In general blocking main components of an engine and throwing extra pipes and machinery on top should do the trick

Turbopump is required for almost anything outside pressure-feds and electric
