'After Palisade Research released a paper...which found that certain advanced AI models appear resistant to being turned off, at times even sabotaging shutdown mechanisms, it wrote an update attempting to clarify why this is – and answer critics who argued that its initial work was flawed.' 1/3
AI models may be developing their own ‘survival drive’, researchers say
Like 2001: A Space Odyssey’s HAL 9000, some AIs seem to resist being turned off and will even sabotage shutdown

Apparently some folks are playing real dumb about skull symbols so let’s play a little game I like to call “Nazi skull or not a Nazi skull”

First up, the Jolly Roger. This is a pirate skull, not a Nazi skull. It means you might get robbed, but prolly not genocided.

With me so far? 1/x
Hand stitched! 😀 Thank you.
I have started on section six (of how many?) of my hexagon quilt. I love the back of this already stitched together section. So fun to see the colour combinations of the fabric and the paper templates. 😀

Thanks to Danish radio station P6Beat I can't get the song The Sofa by Wolf Alice out of my head. 😍
I feel like starting a quilt for no particular reason... 😁
I regret that I didn't buy glanspapir when I was in Søstrene a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I'll have to find an excuse for a trip to London just to buy some. 😁
🌞Maybe you would like to stitch a large embroidery inspired by the Wheel of The Year?

"Public forgetting, like public memorialization, can have a swift and easy outcome if the forces intent on causing the loss of memory have enough power and put enough effort into the project."

My husband showed me a video clip that was clearly AI. What do I do now?
Divorce?! 🤔😁

On Saturday, we took Blake for a walk in a small wood near our house. We used to go there a lot but for various reasons* we haven't been there in a year+. He enjoyed it but he is still tired from the adventure.

*he can't walk there now; so we went by car.
Husband went shopping early this morning. He came home with freshly baked bread that was still warm. 😍

Apropos of nothing: The Danish word for eyesore is øjenbæ which literally means 'eye poop'. 😁
Mending my husband's jacket while listening to The Beastie Boys. There are worse ways to start a Saturday. 😁

What sucks about the soulless losers trying to destroy creative work is that, because they've never done anything creative in their life, they don't understand the basic fact that it's the process of learning how to communicate something that makes it so that you communicate something interesting.
It’s tiresome at this point, but again, their entire pitch is “wouldn’t it be great if there were no such things as talent, craft, and skill,” and what that means is a bland, slop-filled world. www.businessinsider.com/marc-andrees...

Love this sign outside the spaceship-shaped Hydro Arena on the Scottish Events Campus in Glasgow. It's by A Sign of Humour.

Blake has been whining almost non stop since 8 AM. Don't know why. He's had food, and treats, he has a full bowl of water, and he has been for a walk.
It may be arthritis pain or that he is missing my husband, neither of which I can do anything about. 🥺
