To be clear:

LA County has declared a state of emergency BECAUSE OF the federal government.

The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

JOHNSON: “What I’ve seen is the abuse of law enforcement by radical leftist activists. Most recently, the most threatening thing I’ve seen yet was the naked bicyclers who were protesting ICE down there.”

The only example he could conjure 🧐

Careful, naked protestors, you might put an eye out!

Q: We've seen images out of Chicago of federal agents shooting faith leaders with pepper balls and arresting journalists. Where's the limit for you on what's acceptable conduct by federal agents?

MIKE JOHNSON: I've not seen them cross the line yet.

Overwhelmed, I find it increasingly difficult to originate posts.

Much of what I want to say has been said, over & over.

So I repost what shakes me to the core, in case it helps even one person to know: here’s more evidence, America is in a dark place…but here you & I are, still shining a light.

ICE detained Isabela, a Delaware victim of domestic violence, despite her living with temporary protected legal status. In 2019, Isabela helped police find, prosecute, and deport her ex-husband, who stabbed her. If ICE had deported her back to her native country, her abuser would be waiting.

The entire incident is infuriating and terrifying. She’s a Latina woman who was working a service job. On her way home late at night, with her headphones in, she was detained for an hour by masked federal agents who wouldn’t give her their names.
Maria Greeley, 44, had just finished working a double shift at the Beach Bar on Ohio Street
earlier this month when she said she was surrounded by three federal agents who grabbed her, forced her hands behind her back and zip tied her.
Headphones in, Greeley had been focused on getting home to her two dogs for a walk.
Instead, she said she was detained by masked agents who did not answer when she asked for names. They questioned her for an hour, she said.

May we all honor Indigenous people today and every day! 🙏🌺💕
Colorful red-gold-indigo print of a graphic-design indigenous woman with long black and indigo hair layered with faint indigo flowers, looking at the viewer over her shoulder. A red eagle or hawk spreads its wings in the foreground, about to fly over her shoulder. A red sun hangs behind her. Text says: Indigenous People are the Future.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

This is not a border crossing.
There’s no law that any of us have to show our papers on the interior.

This is a blatant civil rights violation. How is anyone supposed to know whether this man is a real ICE agent or just pretending to be one?!
