Can you recommend any podcasts that discuss this, what would you call it, era of the superkicker?
Man, the remake of The Warriors is going to be so confusing.
The film watching / bible reading analogy is on the money. And incidentally, I recommend the novel Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr.
*Steven, not Stephen. All apologies.
I like so much about this podcast, but I especially appreciate 1) Stephen’s refusal to play golf, and 2) his willingness to say things like “the links be swingin’.”
We’re going to the World Series!

Haha, of course. Just makes me wonder how those decisions are made. “Football” confuses American readers, apparently, but other possibly unfamiliar terms (biscuit, garden, holiday, nous) pass through. I wish they’d print the original text and let us figure it out.

@philplait.bsky.social This is an outstanding book. Informative, interesting, and filled with nerdy humor. I’m going to start saying “equinoctes” whenever they come up in conversation.

So much art and culture to appreciate in Amsterdam, my favourite of which was this sculpture commemorating the invention of the down low too slow.
