The real danger of "cancel culture" is when I read a name I only vaguely remember, and have to go "wait, did Denis Dyack do something offensive, or just something stupid?" and then I fall down a Wikipedia rabbit hole.

Enough people whose takes I like finally told me to Slay the Princess, so I did. There's a real painful irony in the fact that the game is so brazenly, furiously about "choice," yet I got the "good ending" by making the choices I personally would make, and it treated that, and only that, as a joke.

I think it's extremely funny that they made a stand-in for Link in Age of Imprisonment, and decided he should remain a silent protagonist, because that is indelibly Link. But in order to have someone that talks in his scenes, they just gave him a Bat from Fist of the North Star.

It wouldn't be so bad if I was completely alone in my opinion that Upside Down A Gundam was bad. But I watched it with my brother, and he also thought it was terrible. We can corroborate each others' experience, even though no one else I've ever met agrees.
