put another way: contemporary reviews were hot on yakuza 1's combat. constant animation lock and knockdown by attacks coming from all directions? yep, just like other action games. but look at these animations!
some reviews of 2 read like reverse attacks and faster loading fixed "the only problems"

was thinking about nioh 3 in the grand scheme of team ninja action-RPGs, and i really feel like it represents them embracing the fact that almost all changes from their previous games can only exist as trade-offs

i read that the director had considered making this an action-RPG, but didn't since wilds is already an action game, and while i agree with that reasoning and a sub-series keeping its identity... man i wanna monster hunt while jumping around a colorful world. you can jump!

i read that the director had considered making this an action-RPG, but didn't since wilds is already an action game, and while i agree with that reasoning and a sub-series keeping its identity... man i wanna monster hunt while jumping around a colorful world. you can jump!
