Here are a range of responses to the EPBC announcement.

The old laws were decades out of date. A new playing field will strengthen the hand of the groups campaigning against new fossil fuel protects & in support of enviro protection. That’s where the work continues.

This bill is better than the laws we have now, and it is far better than what would have been delivered if the government had done a deal with the climate-deniers in the Coalition.

Wonderful news!
The Greens have secured enviro laws with new protections for native forests & stopped Labor from fast-tracking coal & gas.

We’ve got outcomes that forest campaigners have fought for across decades.

We’ve made it harder for big corporations to keep wrecking our environment.

The EPA will approve two new pesticides containing “forever chemicals” and relax a reporting rule for companies who make products with forever chemicals.

The moves come after a $60 million lobbying blitz from the forever chemical industry.

Where is the MAHA outcry?

VERY heartening to hear the gov is in final negotiations with The Greens over EPBC reforms.

A huge 89% majority of global people [56% even in the United States] want stronger action to fight the #ClimateCrisis, but mistakenly believe they’re in a minority.

People want action. Smart cities are taking action. Nations should support city action.

Dan Tehan on RN saying that governments will pay to keep existing ageing coal fired power stations open, as well as doing lots more gas drilling. While claiming 'the market will dictate'. Lots of talk of 'base load', misunderstanding modern energy systems.

What a mess.
