(US only, I'm afraid. Order by Dec 9! wordbookstores.com/your-caitlin... )

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates today!

I'm not going to pretend that I'm happy with the world as a whole at the moment. But on a personal level, it was a pretty incredible year, and I couldn't be more grateful to everyone who has helped make that happen.

AND supporting your local library is super important! If you actually DO want books to be available to everyone, the library *already exists* and is staffed by the people who are deep in the trenches of fighting censorship! Supporting the library is doing actual good for your community!
TAPS SCREEN

For like the zillionth time: Libraries are FREE for you, but WE still get compensated for our work!!
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

We got a box of mBerry miracle fruit tablets as a gift, so naturally needed to taste All The Things. Tasting notes below!

(Miracle fruit contains miraculin, which binds the receptors on your tongue so sour things taste sweet while leaving everything else the same. It wears off in 20 minutes or so.)

This is caused by adults not maintaining their pertussis (whooping cough) vaccines.

You should be getting a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine every 10 years.

We have a baby coming in the family (my first grand nephew!), so my husband and I both got vaccinated this week.

All great stories share one special ingredient. Epic Fantasy? Steamy Romance? Hard SciFi? Look carefully and you'll find it: someone getting hit with a briefcase full of bees.

Honest question, do people still do this? I kind of figured all the ones who would just go to ChatGPT these days.

(To be perfectly clear because this is the internet and I must hate waffles - I acknowledge that Greg is clearly joking.)
That thing where somebody says they have a great book idea and if you write it they’ll split the profits 50/50?

I know, I know. But guys? My ideas are SO GREAT!

This is my new favorite fact.
I mentioned earlier that they chew on Nile Crocodiles - I wasn't kidding, baby Hippos use them as teething rings since the texture of their scales is satisfying to gum.

Just this 12' long razor-toothed archosaur, sitting there going "stay calm, Clarence, you survived the asteroid, you can do this."
a hippopotamus is standing in a puddle of water next to two crocodiles
Alt: A crocodile doing his best to stay calm while a baby hippo noms on him.

I've just heard from my publisher @titanbooks.bsky.social - the warehouse is out of the special edition of DREADFUL with the sprayed edges. Which means the only ones left are currently in @barnesandnoble.com stores across the US. So if you want one, better get moving!
