struggling with this play, needs a lot of restructuring, the right pieces, but in the wrong places

Still so excited for everyone who showed up to this yesterday! It was stunning to see a sea of creatives overwhelm that tiny hearing. We had an overflow room of artists and the line for 30 second public commentary literally had to be cut off!

You made a huge difference
yesterday.

Thank you!
Actors and artists pack Stanford hearing to demand new AI transparency law
SAG-AFTRA and other groups say the measure offers basic transparency for performers whose work is being scraped without consent.

only started #Atari2600 programming fairly recently— quickly stumbled on ZeroPage Homebrew— their regular livestreams highlighting the community’s games + developer interviews, were a spot of light these last few years *and* the monumental work of running the annual Atari Homebrew Awards! Thank you.
I have the unfortunate news to relay that ZeroPage Homebrew is shutting down after almost eight years.

transferring #Pixquare #PixelArt into #Bitsy, decided on the 3d version, but making a 2d game w/ a locked camera + arbitrary perspective, there are many Bitsy flavors w/ different toolsets, but some are no longer supported or the various extensions conflict, X tiles : invisible collisions

oh gosh, so I am reading some Sartre plays and just looked up NO EXIT and think maybe I acted in a scene from this before I had any clue who he was, waaay back as an undergrad in a directing class (all the directing students acted in other people’s scenes), my memory is stirring

listening to this cbc program about Simone Weil and reminded I would enjoy making an audio drama series about her, if someone else produced, her influence is already in my work, but a biographical project would have wider appeal, engage in more direct cultural discussion

was downtown in LA and saw a clump of plant growth way up high on the edge of a building and thought “in game design that’s a rappel location”

I recommend TESTAMENT.
Today in 1984—just over a year after it first opened in movie theaters—“Testament” was broadcast for the first time on PBS as part of the American Playhouse series. The intimate film memorably dramatizes the devastating effects of a nuclear war on a single family in a small Northern California town.

well I trimmed one page from the first twenty-one of this play I’ve been working on, if I can get each act to twenty I figure it’ll be ready for a table-read

Bergman HAMLET sounds a bit like THE PRISONER! “Fortinbras’ leather-clad soldiers, armed w/ machine guns, burst in and mowed down everyone in their way to the accompaniment of thunderous Danish rock music. … a fascist military dictatorship, where morality is as notable in its absence …” #TheatreSky
Hamlet
The emphasis was on violence in Bergman's only production of Hamlet, themed in red, white and black.

been watching the Rod Serling Western series THE LONER starring Lloyd Bridges as a former Union soldier— these twenty-five minute stories can be rather gestural, but the ep “The Kingdom of McComb” co-starring Leslie Nielsen as a local land magnate was pretty good, Nielsen brought some nuance to it

how interesting— learning the word ‘empathy’ started as an art appreciation term(!) at the start of the twentieth century, with the viewer projecting their personality, or ‘feeling into,’ a work of art— an aesthetic experience
