Yeah, I loved the idea -- beware the demon sheep! -- but felt like there had to be a better way to do it.

Also felt like Mom Scientist would/should have told the other kids about Nibs' memory wipe and warned them not to tell her (though of course Slightly or Smee would blab).

(I would like to have seen a flashback arc showing how Cavalier evolved into a Mad King. Even if he was born a batshit crazy narcissist, he had to have been better at hiding it -- and cleverer than the other batshit crazy narcissists -- in order to reach this level of power.)

Sending the $6 billion dollar kids to check out the spaceship crash is also pretty dumb, but it works because Boy "Not Elon Musk" Cavalier is established right away as an impulsive risk taker who no one can say no to.

The high water mark is around eps. 5 & 6, but an early example is in ep. 1 where they realize Wendy can use her network link to remotely hack the company computers, and it somehow doesn't occur to them that this is a huge security flaw that needs to be fixed ASAP.

Finished watching Alien: Earth and really enjoyed it. I'd describe it as the rare example of an idiot plot that (mostly) works, and at some point when I've got time I'll try to unpack that in an essay.
