Back in 2009, I profiled Mike Rutenberg when he was a New Mexico State assistant coach making $30k a year—tied for the lowest-paid assistant in FBS that year.

A guy proposed to his girlfriend at the wine bar/restaurant we went to tonight. After she said “yes,” and he got off his knee, he said, “Fuck, that’s embarrassing.” Bruh, you didn’t do it on a scoreboard proposal like 🙋🏽

After changing our name from the Bezos Literary Club to the Balloon Lasers, we broke our trivia drought tonight by getting this final question correct: What consumable brand put out these flavors over the last 30 years: Typhoon, Supernova and Purple Thunder.

How hard is it to link to other outlets’ work—that told fuller story of what Superintendent Graham told our reporters?

Putting out a call for people to say they didn’t hear enough doesn’t fill the reporting holes here to date.

Our team wants to be sure local woman isn’t being thrown under a bus.

I think maybe the remarkable part is that the US Attorney tried to indict six Democratic elected officials (and veterans) who made a video saying that everyone should follow the law.

Commanders co-owner (and City Paper owner) Mark Ein approached WaPo’s then-CEO Will Lewis with a pitch to “spin sports and local into a separate entity that the City Paper would then invest in and host on its platform.”

The Post reporters were laid off and the desks were shut down instead.

Bezos could have saved WaPo’s sports and local journalists. He laid them off instead.

Police in Bloomington, MN just announced that one of the guys they arrested in an underage sex trafficking sting was a **background checker for ICE agents.**

He had a high security clearance in the Trump administration... and he was caught trying to abuse children. Sickening.

It was reported that Nancy Guthrie's Ring subscription wasn't live and, therefore, the images and video were unretrievable. Now the question is, how did the FBI (or private sector partners) get these? Does Amazon's Ring store footage even without a subscription? Were theyretrieved from hardware?

China and other parts of Asia make nearly all the hockey gear. Like, close to 90%. Just adding more context so you know how totally preposterous this Trump post is.
Trump, in the middle of his latest unhinged Truth Social screed, claims that if Canada makes a trade deal with China, "the first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup."

Our first job as journalists is to get the facts right, something the Pulitzer Prize-winning Mississippi Today failed to do when "reporting" brochures were removed from the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument that called his murderer a “racist.”

That myth soon spread.
