The academic library version of this is when books are primarily either digitized or in offsite storage and delivered by request. In conventional stacks, even when you know exactly what you're going to get, you still at least see some other items and become aware of things you might not know about.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

In 25 years of teaching creative writing, by far and away the two most common traits I've seen among successful writers are that they read avidly and that they support other writers enthusiastically.

Thanks for the correction!
FYI: Jody & Frog Peak did final proofing, typesetting, etc. after years of work by the Tri-Centric Foundation to digitize & revise the text & schematics.

You have to understand the historical context here: we’ve only beaten Bayern twice previously in the champions league.

Tied at the half. We’ve played better but Bayern have stuck to the fundamentals.
