Dammit. Now I’m angry we never got a Tim Burton version of Pirates of the Caribbean with Angela Lansbury as Jack Sparrow.
Happy Angela Lansbury's 100th birthday!

Not as disturbing as when I’m nice to Greg
Subconsciouses are assholes like that.
Yay for ADHD meds! Mine have been a life saver and my creativity has expanded and thrived.
At least prices are down at the grocery store! 🤢
The Tron-themed ride at Disney World is also an epic failure!
This is cool and I suspect Michigan will join, but this is the soft red state blue state cessation we’ve seen coming. People who can move or are lucky enough to be in these states will have one set of rights and access and everyone else is left to the hunger games which sucks.
I think you have used all of the words I like in one single post.
New Dan Brown novel incoming.
My therapist always laughs when I talk about you.
Yes and yes. Literary mysteries by people who don’t care about the mystery part can pound sand.
New books by live queer authors need the money, support, and validation more than dead old white people.
Just a reminder that Banned Books Week isn’t about selling more copies of 1984. It’s about keeping authors and teachers and librarians safe and making sure all of us have the freedom to read widely. www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...

I forgot I had a paper due in my Shakespeare class until the
night before, so I went to my memory and wrote a brilliant one comparing The Simpsons version of Hamlet to Mel Gibson’s and the prof loved it.
I wrote a lit crit paper in grad school about The Anxiety of Influence, Elliott Smith, & and the Beatles and included a burned CD. GenAI could never.
I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.
YES! he was brilliant and I loved Rose’s growth. Scott Frank is one of those writers I just always trust

I have this typed out and taped on my desk.
Writing longhand in a restaurant the way god and David Mamet (before he went batshit) intended. I’m using a nice writing pad as @johnrogers.bsky.social intends instead of my cheap legal pads as well.
Writing pad and fountain pen in a brown leather portfolio on a diner booth table.

•Turn off all notifications except calls and texts.

•Raise your bike seat. It’s probably too low.

•Lower your arms when you run. Fists down by your hips.

•When you walk your dog, do solely that. Don’t be on your phone. Spend the time being with your dog and out in the world.
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?
Congrats. I got to play the game for the first time this weekend!
I just started Murder in a Small Town, which is on Fox of all places with only 8 episode seasons. So far I’m digging it. I’ve also been watching the five Agatha Christie movies (limited series?) Sarah Phelps did on BritBox and enjoying most of them.

Delighted that Cory is having a moment with "Enshittification," because it's an accurate word for what's happening in tech and he's the right person to describe it.

It‘s all the subtle clues from years of following @mdbell79.bsky.social The same thing happened to me. There’s something about the intensity of clenched fists and feet hitting the ground and the sweating that make me forget the world and literally force the stress from my body.
